Windmills of Bliss, NY by Steve Malloy Desormeaux
"Bliss, New York is a hamlet 60 miles southwest of Rochester. The population is 1,194. The cow population if greater. Due to the elevation and a prevailing wind, the area is home to the Noble Bliss Wind Farm. The windmills are scattered over 50 square miles, sited in small clusters on land leased from dozens of farmer..... If you get close enough, you can hear a light whooshing sound."

The Abandoned Silk Mill by David Soderlund
"The photographs in this portfolio were taken during two visits to the historic abandoned silk mill in Lonaconing, MD. The Klotz Silk Throwing Mill was built in 1905 to spin and dye silk thread from raw silk.... In 1957 the Klotz company suddenly closed the mill doors in a labor dispute, and the building has stood silent for almost six decades, abandoned to the elements...."

"The village of SaPa is located nearly 5,000 feet above sea level in Viet Nam's remote northwest mountains, not far from the Chinese border. We visited in March 2016 and were captivated by the panoramic terrace vistas. But what was most memorable and impactful was the massive amount of time and labor invested by the villagers to cultivate these crops....."
