Forgotten Spaces by Amanda Bellucco Chatham
"In the last two years, I have traveled the northeast documenting unnamed abandonments -- hospitals, factories, schools, and more -- in effort to breathe life into these temporary, forgotten spaces. Every location I photograph becomes a part of me......"
Windmills of Bliss, NY by Steve Malloy Desormeaux
"Bliss, New York is a hamlet 60 miles southwest of Rochester. The population is 1,194. The cow population if greater. Due to the elevation and a prevailing wind, the area is home to the Noble Bliss Wind Farm. The windmills are scattered over 50 square miles, sited in small clusters on land leased from dozens of farmer..... If you get close enough, you can hear a light whooshing sound."
The Everyday Beauty of Things, by Alexandra Latypova
"My portfolio is inspired by the 16th -- 17th century Dutch still life paintings. I fell in love with Jacob van Hulsdonck's paintings of fruit and flowers and used many of the visual and lighting elements from his style in my photography....."
Golden Perspectives by Stephanie Albanese
"A small reflective ball, purchased on a whim, was the vehicle that chose me for this project.... The sphere took on a life of its own and a common theme emerged. The images speak of the dynamics of relationship, of design and color, but above all, of the interaction of environment and subject."
The Abandoned Silk Mill by David Soderlund
"The photographs in this portfolio were taken during two visits to the historic abandoned silk mill in Lonaconing, MD. The Klotz Silk Throwing Mill was built in 1905 to spin and dye silk thread from raw silk.... In 1957 the Klotz company suddenly closed the mill doors in a labor dispute, and the building has stood silent for almost six decades, abandoned to the elements...."
Botanical Beauty by Nancy Ridenour
"Each flower has its own character, some soft and comforting, others bold and assertive...... I take photographs in personal and public gardens as well as within my studio. Photography brings me closer to the beauty of the botanical world and give me great personal satisfaction."
Folktography by Boris Keller
"Photography offers the opportunity to capture moments in time. My interest is to display these moments with my own vision and interpretation of the subject. Folk art has influenced by style. Making the ordinary unique draws attention to what may be overlooked....."
Terraces of Sa Pa, Viet Nam by Ed Stone
"The village of SaPa is located nearly 5,000 feet above sea level in Viet Nam's remote northwest mountains, not far from the Chinese border. We visited in March 2016 and were captivated by the panoramic terrace vistas. But what was most memorable and impactful was the massive amount of time and labor invested by the villagers to cultivate these crops....."
