Camera Rochester is a friendly group of  people who love photography. Programs designed to encourage members by helping them understand the strengths of their images and build on them. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Camera Rochester has held monthly competitions online. Three judges are chosen from outside the club to score and comment on the images entered. Judges’ comments are provided for all entries regardless of score.

There is also a members-only newsletter with helpful tips to help members better understand newer thinking in photography and how to apply those ideas to their own photography. The newsletter also recongnizes members' successes and has information about contests, exhibitions and publishing opportunities.
